What are balou bear products made from?

Safety is the most important thing to us. Our silicone products are made from 100% FDA grade silicone that meet European standards. Free from all harmful/toxic chemicals.

How do I clean balou bear products?

Please clean before first use.

Silicone:

Clean in warm soapy water or on top rack of dishwasher. Try to clean immediately after use and avoid using any harsh chemicals. If you're out and about simply wipe clean with a wipe.

Wooden spoon:

Since the handles on our spoons is wooden, they require extra care. They are NOT dishwasher safe. Please do not leave them to soak in water either. Simply clean the silicone in soapy water and wipe down the handle.

Do balou bear products stain?

Our products should not stain however if you have used strong oil-based foods e.g. oil/tomato based sauces and are not cleaned straight away after use then slight staining may occur. Please leave to soak in warm soapy water if this happens and scrub with soap. 

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee 100% that our products will be completely stain-proof from all foods so will be unable to provide a refund/exchange for this reason. Please follow the information above to avoid staining.

Is the suction base really strong?

Yes! Our suction base on our products is super strong and stops plates/bowls ending up face down on the floor. Our suction plates/bowls work best on smooth surfaces such as plastic or glass that are clean/dry before use. 
However, please note that the suction may need reapplied during the meal and we cannot guarantee that it won’t budge at all. Specifically, high chairs or any surfaces that aren't completely smooth such as wood will make it difficult to achieve a long-lasting suction and you may have to readjust throughout the meal time.
To get the best out of your suction bowl/plate please press firmly in the centre to ensure no air can get in. If you are struggling to get a good suction, put a drop of water underneath the suction base and press down in the centre.
